KOMIKON 2009 Winners

Congrats to all the winners, nominees, attendees, fans, and the organizers who helped this annual event rolling (it's been four years, 4 solid years and counting mga tsong!). I can still remember plugging the First Komikon @ UP Bahay ng Alumni circa 2005 in my dead blog. It started as comic book collector and hobbyist's gathering as the Award Guideline was just at its draft form but looking at the whole event now, it's completely different! I hope I will be able to attend and see you next year! =P

Grassroot Award:
1st place: Life as Viciously Impossible by Daphne Martinez (Lambchild)
2nd place: Nurse Macho Origins by Mangaholix
3rd place: Kalayaan by Gio Paredes, GMP Comics

Comic Aid Award: Elbert Or and Japan Foundation Manila

Personally, I can't wait for the new release of Francisco Coching's classic El Indio. Comic book collectors as well as serious art collectors should be ready for it. Also, I can't wait for him to be inducted as a National Artist. If he gets nominated, he will earn my vote with the rest of the lurking K._._._.K._._.O.S. (forgotten, but not dead!)
