DREDD 2012

After viewing Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS and seeing all kinds of love & hate reviews from both ends of the spectrum, I'm still waiting to see the best Sci Fi movie of 2012.

Could this be the One?

Alex Garland wrote the screenplay for this R-18 Sci Fi reboot. Compared to Prometheus' Damon Lindelof who got the reputation in producing the tv series Lost,  Alex Garland is probably the better writer based on his successful novel The Beach in 1996 (later adapted into a DiCaprio film in 2000), and more importantly, his successful sreenplay work on Danny Boyle's post-apocalyptic zombie thriller 28 Days Later in 2002.

I never bothered about the original Dredd movie in 1995 because that story was a mediocre one, I could not see it as pure "action flick" (in the tradition of steroid-laden Stallone films) like the Rambo series or the Rocky series. Hopefully this one, should be better and more fun than the Expendables 2. lol

Judge Dredd will be played by Karl Urban (LOTR's Eomer) with Olivia Thirlby and Lena Headey (HBO Game of Thrones' Cersei Lannister).
