It's your chance to name Pluto's moons

Mark Showalter (for the P4/P5 Discovery Team) Senior Scientist of Carl Sagan Center for the Study of Life in the Universe, SETI Institute asked netizens to name two of Pluto's current five known moons named as P4 and P5. The other three were named Nix, Hydra, and Charon which are themed from the underworld characters of Greek and Roman Mythology.

A little bit of background on the names that currently appear on the online ballot:

You can cast your vote or make suggestions of your own. Just dont forget the conditions. I'm almost tempted to suggest Habagat and Amihan, or Makiling and Banahaw but I know the names of Philippine Folk Gods will surely feel out of place with their Greek counterparts. Only in your dreams, Narj.

  1. If you want to know my choices by the way, they are EURYDICE and ORPHEUS. Since Feb 14 lurks around, the story of the ill-fated lovers may coincidentally fit well. Romeo? Juliet? =P
